We are so excited to announce the Battle Of The Waste Companies, a charity football match between KCM Waste Management and Fawkes Waste, taking place on Friday, 9th May at New York Stadium.
This event is in support of Sophie White, who was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour at the age of 21 after suffering with a seizure whilst having a meal with her son (Remi, now two years old) and her mother.
In June 2023, Sophie underwent major brain surgery, which successfully removed 95% of her tumour. Sophie was later diagnosed with grade 4 glioblastoma, with a one-year life expectancy.
Treatments available from the NHS are no longer effective, so fundraising efforts have commenced to help Sophie receive life-prolonging immunotherapy in Germany. This treatment costs £200,000, and the community has already raised over £50,000.
KCM Waste Management and Fawkes Recycling are coming together to help raise more funds for Sophie so she can receive her treatment and be present to watch her son grow and learn.
