We’re delighted to share that KCM Waste Management has been shortlisted for Social Value Business Of The Year and Large Business of the Year at the 2026 Barnsley & Rotherham Business Awards. Our very own Ellie Hickling has also been shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year.
As a family business celebrating 40 years in 2026, it means a great deal to see both our team and the wider work we do recognised in the region we call home.
Being shortlisted for Social Value reflects something that matters deeply to us. Alongside providing waste management services, we work with local charities, support community events and use our platform to raise awareness of issues such as the dangers of sleeping in bins through our Bin Not Bed campaign.
The Large Business of the Year shortlist is a proud moment for everyone across KCM. From our drivers and operational teams to customer service, sales and support staff, our people keep the business moving every day. Together, we’ve grown from our Yorkshire roots to serve commercial and domestic customers across the UK.
We’re equally proud to see Ellie recognised for her work as an apprentice. Ellie plays an active role in KCM’s marketing and communications, helping to share our services, community work and the people behind the business while continuing to develop her skills through her apprenticeship.
